My work stems from an intuitive and investigative approach to my own emotional life and the world. For me it is a way of being and a channeling of thought streams. I work a lot with senses and how we attach value to senses, how some senses are more sensitive in the encounter with others. I am interested in how and when human consciousness and cognition arose and separated us from the rest of the earth's creatures. In my work I like to combine natural materials with human-made, synthetic and more processed materials. Such as plastic, nylon, waste, etc. During my explorations with different materials and processes, I discovered that physical fabrics and textured surfaces e.g. wood are interesting in combination with pigments. I mostly use different types of fabric, such as thick and lightly woven cotton, tulle, polyester, and canvas. I like the different kinds of textures, how it feels and looks, and how it forces me to work in different ways to achieve my visions. In my work with fabrics, I use pigment from nature. Pigments extracted from berries and flowers. Together with the soft materials I use chicken fence and wire to form sculptures and upholster them with fabrics and yarn. The contrast in between, and contrasts in general is a great source of inspiration, the natural against the unnatural, the the brutal against the dreamy and appealing.
